700R4/4L60E 13 VANE ROTOR KIT

 700R4 / 4L60E high performance / high volume pump rotor kits. Turn your seven or ten vane pump into a thirteen vane pump. This kit will eliminate irregular pump pressure above 5,000 RPM. Transmission must be removed to install this kit. (When using a 13 vane pump don't raise the motor speed above idle until the transmission is full of fluid, doing so may break the pump rotor.)

700R4/4L60E/2004R 4TH GEAR LOCK-UP SOLENOID

2.84 Ratio Input Carrier Kit

The steepest first gear ratio of any four-speed automatic (3.06) belongs to the GM 4L60/E family of transmissions. The shift from 3.06 ratio (first) to 1.63 ratio (second) is a dramatic ratio change, allowing engine RPM drop that results in performance engines falling out of the optimal power band. The Sonnax 2.84 input carrier kit 77284-K changes these popular units from a "wide ratio" 3.06/1.63 to a "close ratio" 2.84/1.55 configuration with more desirable RPM drop between 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. This keeps performance engines in the optimal power band while allowing a longer pull in first and second gears, improving consistency and performance.

This high-quality carrier has several advanced design features: the gears are precision-ground to OE standards, thrust washers are highly wear-resistant PTFE-coated material and the captured bearing is thicker late design. Lube channels direct oil to the pinion pins and the unit can be disassembled for inspection and service.

4L60, 4L60-E, 4L65-E, 4L70-E input housing: (1) flexing/bowing of the 3-4 backing plate,

(2) limited 3-4 clutch torque capacity, (3) 3-4 snap-ring blow-out, (4) input housing breakage near the input shaft spline, and (5) input housing fatigue failure.

Flexing/bowing of OE and other aftermarket backing plates is eliminated with Sonnax’s heavy duty bolt-on anchoring plate. This unique design ensures even clamping of the 3-4 clutches in higher horsepower, higher pressure applications. By eliminating the 3-4 snap ring and using a thinner yet stiffer apply plate, space is made available for additional frictions and steels. This makes it possible to simultaneously increase clutch torque capacity and eliminate the possibility of retaining ring blow-out. A steel reinforcement sleeve prevents breakage in the spline area. Housing fatigue failure resistance and housing life are significantly improved with a special treatment process that greatly reduces stress crack formation.

Heavy Duty Input Shaft

SONNAX

Input shaft failure is a common problem as power levels are increased in GM 4L60-E, 4L65-E and 4L70-E units. The Sonnax 300mm non-reluctor heavy duty input shaft 77733-11S is made of specially heat treated steel with very hard outer layers with a more ductile inner core for strength and resistance to fracture. The feed holes are chamfered to reduce stress and the shaft is further processed by shot peening and deep cryogenic treatment. This shaft is suitable for any high-horsepower street or strip application.
